Preben Mejer,
Head of Innovation Lab

Preben Mejer founded DanaData, the largest IBM PC solutions reseller in Denmark (1983) and TDC Internet, the first and leading commercial ISP (Internet Service Provider) in Denmark (1994).
Since 1998 Preben has been focused on new technology and trends, and new business opportunities emerging out of this.

In 2001 Preben Mejer was appointed to the top 10 list of most influential IT personalities in Denmark, and in 2002 the most creative and groundbreaking IT individual in Denmark.

Preben Mejer is Senior Vice President of TDC, responsible for business development. Preben has also been head of Innovation Lab since 2001, a 50 employee non profit activity focused on future technology and trends.
 

Nigel Pendse
Independent BI industry analyst

Nigel Pendse has been an independent BI industry analyst since 1994. He edits The OLAP Report and is the author of The BI Survey, now in its eighth edition. He is a popular, speaker at conferences, where he takes a down-to-earth approach, avoiding industry buzzwords. Before becoming an industry analyst, he worked in a variety of vendor roles since 1977. Before that, he was a user of early BI systems from 1974, long before the term was coined.
 

Michael Coveney
Author and Global Thought Leader

Michael Coveney has more than 30 years of experience in the financial analytic software industry where he specialised in helping enterprises combine ‘best management practices’ with technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their performance management processes.

During his career, Michael has been involved in the design and implementation of budgeting and reporting systems for major UK based organisations such as BP, ICI, Guinness and Inland Revenue.

His extensive experience has led him to become a regular speaker at many international events. Michael is also the author of the acclaimed business book ‘The Strategy Gap’ published by J Wiley & Sons and a past course developer and leader with the American Management Association.
 

Sandy Georgas-Gait
Data Warehouse Data Architect, McDonald’s Corporation

Sandy Georgas-Gait has been in the Data Management profession since 1986, in roles including Enterprise Data Architect, Data Architect Team Leader, DBA, DBA Manager, and is currently the Global Data Warehouse Data Architect for McDonald’s. She has designed a vast number of databases in almost all major DBMS platforms, including four data warehouses, two of which were in the multi-terabyte size, as well as numerous OLTP and OLAP databases. She has developed several Enterprise Data Models, defined Data Architecture processes, taught new DA’s, and has developed many company specific data architecture tools and standards. She has worked in a variety of industries including energy, banking, retail, restaurant and transportation. In addition, as a graduate of the famous Second City in Chicago, she peppers her presentations with humor, making her sessions entertaining as well as educational.
 

Richard Beaven
Global Head of Change Programmes, Thomson Reuters Markets Division

Richard is the Global Head of Change Programmes for Thomson Reuters Markets Division. He is responsible for the integration of the middle office of the former Thomson Financial and Reuters businesses and a programme to transform the service model for the new company.

With a career mainly in financial services, he was the Sales & Service Director for Barclays UK retail branches and Managing Director for Bank of New York’s European custody business.
Richard lives in London.

 

Jay Mazzucco
Senior Manager - Global Data Management, Johnson & Johnson

Jay Mazzucco is the head of Johnson & Johnson’s Consumer Sector Global Data Management Organization. In his 23 years experience in MDM, he is responsible for the global strategies within Master Data Management and developing regional roadmaps for Data Standards, Data Design, Data Governance programs.

At Johnson & Johnson family of companies they comprise the world’s Premier Consumer Health Company, largest and most diverse medical devices & diagnostics company and are the 6th largest pharmaceutical company. At Johnson & Johnson they first set the foundation by enacting a Global Data Management Organization which enabled global, regional data standards. They aligned the organization and stewardship of the data within regional data org’s to drive synergy to their global vision. As they continued, Jay has led many initiatives in MDM in implementing both Passive & Active Governance programs while also transitioning regional data organizations from a tactical to strategic model.

 

Michael Borges
CEO, Platon

Michael is the founder and CEO of Platon - a leading independent Information Management consulting company. Michael has almost 20 years of experience in Information Management ranging from solution development to strategy formulation. He was involved in developing his first Data Warehouse in 1989 and since 1993 he has worked as a consultant for more than 50 companies in most industries.

He is recognized as an expert on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Performance Management, analytical CRM and Data Quality Management. Michael holds a Masters in Business Administration and Computer Science from Copenhagen Business School. He has been chairman and speaker at a large number of conferences.
