Career
My education includes an MS in Economics from the University of Århus, with an emphasis on national economics, and I have now been working with Information Management for ten years, the past five at Platon.
And I have to say that Platon is a fantastic workplace. Due to our independence, I am able to focus 100% on delivering the right solutions to our customers, and faithfully consulting on the challenges that they are facing. I am not limited to a specific technology, but I can in fact act as a trusted advisor and sit on the same side of the table as the customer throughout the entire course of the project.
For me personally, this independence has meant that I have had the freedom to develop my competencies to cover a very broad product portfolio, right from IBM DataStage through SAS to Microsoft SQL Server. At the same time, the daily interaction with some of the most competent people in the industry provides an endless source of learning and experience. There is always a colleague who can help with the most in-depth technological challenges. You are never alone as a consultant for Platon!
Daily working life
At present, my focus in the projects is primarily to analyze and design an optimal solution in conjunction with the customer's representatives. The process involves ensuring that the needs of the business are covered and prioritized before that actual analysis and design work begins. And it is working in this tension between IT and the rest of the business that gives me a kick in my daily workday.
Colleagues
Platon is a company full of highly educated, professional and competent people, and it is also a company filled with humor, energy and sheer delight. Many social events are held each year, both locally in the individual offices and in the divisions, as well as internationally. These events have a professional content, however the networking with your colleagues is at least an equally important part of them.
