This is a short tutorial on how to configure the Microsoft Outlook 2013 e-mail client for downloading mail over POP3 from mailboxes at Platon Webhosting. The mailbox name@domain.sk is used as an example in the pictures, but the procedure applies to any e-mail mailbox running on our servers.
In the top menu of Microsoft Outlook 2013 choose File, which shows you the available options. There pick -> Add Account.
A new window opens that lets you configure the e-mail account. From the offered options choose Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
In the next window choose the POP or IMAP option.
Clicking the Next button takes you to the basic settings of the e-mail account.
In the Server Information section fill in:
Then click the More Settings… button
Click the second tab Outgoing Server. Tick the option My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and leave Use same settings as my incoming mail server selected.
In the same window click the last tab Advanced. Tick the SSL option for both the incoming and the outgoing mail server. The ports also need to be changed as follows:
Clicking the OK button takes you back to the basic settings. There click Next.
Clicking the Next button tests the configuration. After a successful test the account is set up and you can click Close and Finish and start using it.
